The multiplier multiplies the input to its top terminal by the input to its bottom terminal, and then multiplies that product by the Gain parameter. The divider divides the input to its top terminal by the input to its bottom terminal, and then multiplies that product by the Gain parameter. A value must be entered for the gain parameter.
Gain in Value or Decibels
Gains can be specified in value or decibels. Select the type of gain parameter you are entering using the radio buttons in Value or in dB's.
Since you cannot take the log of a negative number, if you are converting a negative gain (in value) to decibels, the multiplier inverts the gain to make it positive (by taking its absolute value) before converting to decibels. When this happens, the check box Invert is automatically selected.
